I am a beautiful dark skin girl i'm 5'4 nice features. Long dark brown hair and eyes and a shapely slim toned figure. I am years 15 old. I want to be an actress and it's a natural talent for me. But, of course being dark skinned would be harder to get good parts like Halley Berry. Yes she is black but very light does she really count as full black woman. Even she had to go though her problem she had to first start out in movies that most people really wouldn't see, imaging being darker that would be ever harder. I'm hoping one day they with show beautiful dark skin black woman more in the entertainment bizz and show more than light skinned black woman such as Halley Berry, Tyra banks, and Beyonce. It would be better to show both more dark women like they show beyonce. It's not just black wowmen it's asian and native american women as well. It's worse at least some dark black woman get exposure but, asian and native american woman are limited in the bizz.
what are your thoughts on this

Racism and styerotypes in the entertainmant bizz.?
Unfortunately that junk (racism/stereotypes) is everywhere, but I would say go for it. There is room for all ethnicities. There is always a trailblazer- a first.
Follow your dream and become very good at it. Good luck.
Racism and styerotypes in the entertainmant bizz.?
You are absolutely right - about darker black women and other minority females.
I hope you break through those barriers.
Maybe if you get a "speciality" act.
God bless you and good luck. You will need it.

I haven't noticed any discrimination recently. If you are lovely as you say, and have talent, there's no reason you can't succeed.

If you work hard enough you won't have any trouble.Don't worry about race because as I said if you work hard enough and are good enough people won't care.
Racism and styerotypes in the entertainmant bizz.?
You know you are so very right but I would not give up. Someone has to be the first. Look at Cicely Tyson a dark skinned black woman who has played lots of diverse roles.
Hattie McDaniel, a dark-skinned black woman was the very first Black person ever to win an Oscar.
Don't give up, you can break barriers and be a pioneer. :-) YOU can be the one to change all that.
Racism and styerotypes in the entertainmant bizz.?
there will always be rascism in the entertainment biz but dont let that discourage you
many black women have made their way in entertainment.
good luck!!!!!

these comments are commen but i think sometimes being a relative of someone famous or if the women is not what america wants to neccesarily see or to sexy or a threat it could be a problem for a big role, but I think some are different!!

Heck, not even just about race...even a white woman that gets old or chunky is no longer seen as such a desirable contender in that business. It's a tough field for people to have a career in. But...
Girlfriend, there will always be those people that push through and break down those boundaries, and what better then to be one of the ones who is a part of that. Go for it. : )
