Everyone is spiking their hair. Try the dreads but I would grow your hair out a lot longer first. I've seen a lot of hispanic guys with asian features with dreads and it looks good. It's your hair do what you want

I used to have dreads, I loved them but beware! They do stink pretty bad. Maybe a mohawk is a better bet. Although as you said, not too original for an Asian.

You could look for a salon that does that computer thing where they take a picture of your face and then put different hair on it so you can see how you'd look.

Dread locks. I'm an Asian girl, and a main reason I am not physically attracted to Asian guys, is because they try to go all anime and stuff with like spikey hair. So unattractive, and a little gay. I prefer a simple cut, but since you asked, I'd say go for dread locks.
