Outfit for piano recital,help please=]?

Ok,so my piano recital's comin' up,and I'm supposed to wear something more formal this time. Since it's in the late spring/summer,I want something more summery..I'm a junior/pettite. Average figure,Asian/Chinese,tanned,Shoulder length layered hair,ears-pierced,5'6"..

These are the criteria:

1. Try to limit pink and black.

2.Knee length as said above.

3. Preferably under 50 dollars.

4. Can be found at Macy's,Bannana Republic,Gap,Old Navy,Forever 21,Charlotte Russe,etc. Mall stores..

5. I would like a dress, but a skirt and top is fine as long as they are dressy.

6. Halter/Strappy please. No strapless. No low cut.

7.Can't look 'cheap'

EXTRA: Post links PLEASE=] Also,if you find shoes, hairstyles, etc. that match....that Best Answer just may go to you...

Thank you so much in advance. I kno....I'm really picky, but thanks so much. I'll definitely give out 10 points....I just haven't found the right outfit yet.

Lets start from the head down. Your asian! It doesn't matter what you do with your hair, as long as you wash, CONDITION, and dry you will be fine, if you notice all asian hair seems to dry shiny and silky looking! but if you really want to do something different either pull your hair back into a bun, pony tail or curls! A bun is older looking and slicker. A pony tail is slicker but younger looking. And curls are just fun, I suggest the curls because it's different and in the spring/summer seasons they look HOT!

A dress I suggest stores like Mandee, they have some beautiful dresses. I know you said to limit the black but honestly black for a recital is the most appropriate. Yellows, pinks, and whites with a spot light wil make you very very shiny and bright people will start looking elsewhere. Any other color is just very unprofessional. For your very first recital I say go with a black dress, that is very classic professional and can be reused in the future! I suggest H%26amp;M, Mandee, Forever 21 or New York and Company.

Personally I love shopping at H%26amp;M, Mandee or Forever 21 becaquse they have very appropriate dresses which are at decent prices. New York and Company occasionally have. Macy's or Banana are usually more expensive. Fap and Old Navy are less semi-formal more casual and usually not for stage wear. Charlotte Russe is ok, but similarly to Afaze or Strawberry these are more for parties, hence they are a little bit on the inappropriate side (more revealing but tey work really well sometimes for on the cheaper side).

Shoes are pretty easy. Wear stiletto pumps. They won't make you look like a complete ho, but they go with everything! OR you can try strappy which as long as their thinner black straps and not too many of them they are probably going to work with your outfit fine, DSW have some great shoes as well.

Dresses I like are in the links below. My fave i think might be the lacy sweetheart dress at forever 21...If you don't want black the adrian dress might be your best bet. and that last dressat mandee is great too!

I always wore sundresses from Macy's to my summer violin recitals, usually with a pretty sweater (I hate being cold when I perform). From my 'net searching, looks like Macy's is still a winner. A cropped cardigan (banana republic has classy ones) would go well with any of these.

As for shoes, I'd wear some dressy black sandals with either of these dresses. I don't know if you're picky about shoes because of the pedals, though.

And for hair, I like to pull my hair back in a bun, with a headband, or in a half-ponytail (just the front pieces, maybe with pins or barrettes) when I perform so it doesn't get in my eyes. Any of those would look good with these dresses. I'd keep jewelry simple...maybe just a pretty bracelet.

Break a leg!

I personally really like those... Try to have not so distracting outfits, because that sometimes distracts people from your playing.

As for hair, just wear it back so it doesn't get in your way. Ballet flats are good shoes, or just any kind of sandals that aren't flip-flops.

i play the piano too...im 14...anyways for a piano recital, i would recommend a nice appropriate dressor even a skirt and a nice shirt

i would mostly go or the dress...i would wear a dress that doesnt show a lot at the top. i would have it a thick strap/wide and have it go just above the knee length, and nice flats...

flats- at payless/target/even at the mall---in the clearence section, like macys

dress- u could get it at forever21, windsor, or evenmacys

ill go with macys or jcpenny...they have a wide variety of dresses that arent so expensive...get it a bright color, yellow, pink, light green, blue. etc....
